Question: Why does coffee give me diarrhea?
(Posted by: fuzzluvsbears on 2010-03-10 18:45:49)
Ever since I was younger and first tried coffee, it gives me diarrhea. It doesn't matter what kind of coffee. Lattes, Cappuccinos, regular coffee, etc. It all gives me diarrhea, but the stronger it is, the worst the diarrhea and the worst I feel. Why does this happen? Other hot liquids do not give me diarrhea. |

It speed up your digestive system, the stool has less time in the large intestine where excess liquid it absorbed. |

Coffee is the first thing doctors tell people with stomach issues/ IBS to avoid. Its hot and its a liquid are two of the theories. |

Same happens to me, it could be because it's hot and i don't know if the caffeine has anything to do with it also, but mainly i think it's like one of the other answerers said, because it's hot and it's liquid |

Do you take them with milk or cream? If so it might be a lactose intolerance. |
