Depends on how "overwhelming " the amount is. One girl who might have had no tolerance or a natural sensitivity to caffeine ended up going to the hospital for observation after drinking only 7 cups of coffee (in 4 hours, true). I've had caffeine overdoses myself with varying symptoms. The one time I had classical symptoms I had jitters, a fever, and high anxiety. More often I feel very exhausted after drinking too much caffeine. I didn't hurt myself badly enough to have permanent consequences, although there are reports of people who have overdosed themselves on caffeine pills badly enough to do permanent damage. If you consume under 1000 mg of caffeine - say, under 10 cups - you're unlikely to do permanent harm, though you might be quite uncomfortable.

It will dehydrate you, which will affect digestion and that will destroy every thing. I dont know much but that coffee is like a slow poison - not sure how true it is
